The recorded sessions in my test include a lot of sub-ordinate requests (e.g. CSS, WeResources.axd, AJAX calls, etc.) and sometimes unrelated requests (e.g. if other web requests from another application occur during recording, say from other open browser tabs).  Does SS replay ALL requests or just the primary request?

During the recording, StresStimulus attempts to filter out unrelated traffic from other browsers and applications. However, as you correctly noted, it will capture the unrelated traffic from the other tabs or toolbars of the same IE instance.

During the test, StresStimulus replays all requests, not only primary requests. The reason for this design is that it does not know which dependent requests impact your server performance, and which ones you want to ignore. So, if you need to exclude some requests from the test, delete them from Fiddler, and they will be automatically deleted from the test and excluded from all future replays. Tip: use sorting in fiddler to quickly find specific hosts or mime types.
In order to double check which requests where issued during the test, check the Request Details grid in the Test Results section.
