Validator not working

I'm having trouble using Response Validators. Ultimately, I do not want to abort the iteration, only interested in examining the response that didn’t pass the validator. What am I missing? It’s as if the response validators are not being executed.
This is my validator, set to fail:
Run my test, 1 VU, 3 iterations, all pass:
There are no errors in the details, either.

I’m assuming that your responses contain the words “blah blah blah fail this test” and you want the validator to mark this request as an error.
According to your screenshot, change the Fail If property to Found.
Also since you don’t want to abort the iteration then change the Action if failed property to Continue.
