Could you explain what is the difference between Request and Transaction in the Stress Stimulus Report?

In StresStimulus, a transaction includes multiple requests. Transactions are most often created during recording by entering their names in the recorder - http://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc50/Recording+with+Web+Browser
The response time of a transaction comprises response times of all requests in the transaction.
