We have quite a few users floating around the office on WIFI.

Should I record the test case over the WIFI to see how the latency holds up?

It is not recommended to connect a test machine via Wi-Fi because its network throughput is lower than Ethernet. In high intensity tests it can introduce additional latency that can impact performance metrics accuracy.

Regarding realistic emulation of your Dynamics users on Wi-Fi: let's say 80% offer users our on Wi-Fi and 20% our hardwired. You can create a network mix that combines several types of networks http://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc48/Network+Settings .
In your case:
  • click on the network type
  • change the mix weight for LAN to 20
  • add another network type
  • from the network picker select Wireless and then your specific Wi-Fi type
  • click OK to add it
  • change its mix weight to 80

  • Now when you run a test with let's say 200 users, StresStimulus will emulate 40 hardwired users and 160 Wi-Fi users. It will also show you different performance for each group of users. You would even be able to compare them to see the impact of Wi-Fi in different user scenarios.
