The service release issued today (build 2.8.4918) includes the following improvements and fixes:
Simplified activation: In the previous version, license activation was valid for a single user profile on the machine. Before switching to a different user profile, StresStimulus had to be deactivated and then activated again with the second user profile. In the new version, serial number activation is valid for all users on the machine.
Simplified installation on Windows 8. Previous StresStimulus versions required .NET 3.5 framework. Therefore, an additional 50 MB download was necessary to install StresStimulus on Windows 8 shipped without .NET 3.5 framework. The new version can work with either .NET 4.0 or .NET 3.5, which makes its installation on Windows 8 faster.
Improved handling of performance counters of the remote server. If StresStimulus runs under the security context of a user that does not have permissions to access remote server performance counters, then another user's credentials with sufficient permissions must be entered. Previous versions did not store such credentials. As a result, every time after reopening the test, the credentials have to be reentered. In the new version, performance counters from the remote server persist.
Agent Reset button. This button can clear agent state after "Agent unavailable or busy" message is appeared, in cases when the message is caused by the faulty agent state.
A fix of inconsistent user ramp-up during warm-up, and many other fixes and minor improvements are included as well.
