I am wondering if I can read parameters from a script

Yes you can. Click on the Script Editor to see the XML script. Parameters are stored in the Parameters collection that is documented here http://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc42/Collection+Parameters

Scripting is an advanced feature but it can increase productivity in creating multiple scripts in some situations. For example, if you need to create many similar parameters in different test cases, you can copy and paste parameter definitions and then manually changed some attributes (e.g. ParameterNumber)
