Could you please advise if the tool can measure the performance of uploading and downloading documents within a web-based app?
If yes how can we do this?

StresStimulus can record and measure the performance of file upload and download test cases. It is no different than any other load testing scenario.
To create such a test case:
· If your web-based app is browser-based you can record a file upload/download scenario as described https://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc57/Recording+with+Web+Browser
· If your web-based app is non-browser-based, you can record it as described https://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc57/Recording+from+non-browser+applications
· You may parameterize the content of the uploaded files as described https://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc57/Uploading+Files
· Finally, you may run a test of this scenario as described https://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc57/Starting+Test
