When we are trying to record a Desktop Application which uses HTTP Protocol with NTLM Authentication, we observed that Authorization Token in HTTP Header is not captured in the Recorded Script but whereas we are able to see the same in the Replayed Script. But there is no feature to add Header explicitly for Authorization Token in Tool. Due to this we couldn’t parameterize for the extracted Token in the previous Request’s Response.

StresStimulus supports NTLM authentication out-of-the-box without the need to add or change Authorization header. You just need to enter your application’s credentials in the Authentication node inside StresStimulus.

For more on NTLM and other server authentications see http://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc50/_Authentication or watch this video https://www.stresstimulus.com/videos/test-with-multiple-logins-server-authentication
If a script passes NTLM authentication, StresStimulus automatically correlates server cookies. If your screenshot shows that on playback StresStimulus sends the recorded value, it most likely means that the authentication failed. Some applications use more than one authentication method some of which may require manual correlation or other script fix http://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc50/Manual+Parameterization

We have been trying by entering Application Credentials with domain in the Authentication node. But still the same issue is persisting.

Mainly sending of Authentication Token is not recorded under the Request Header while Recording the Script. Hence we couldn’t parameterize the Token extracted from the previous request’s response.

And while running the test, the Stress Stimulus Tool always sends the same token which was stored while recording the script.

In NTLM authentication Authorization header does not need to be captured because it is automatically generated by StresStimulus using the credentials you specify in the Authentication section.

If a script passes NTLM authentication, StresStimulus automatically correlates server cookies. Because your screenshot shows that on playback StresStimulus sends the recorded value, it most likely means that the authentication failed. Some applications use more than one authentication method some of which may require manual correlation or other script fix http://support.stresstimulus.com/display/doc50/Manual+Parameterization

We provide manual correlation and script troubleshooting on screen sharing sessions that are included with Premium Support. Unfortunately, you have email-only Standard Support that does not cover scripting service.
