How to reduce the storage use

We ran a test scenario last night with a single POS machine and encountered SQL CE disk full message.
We are planning to setup additional POS for the subsequent test, may I know if we need to install SQL server on each of the POS or just the master POS machine?
Does all the test data get push/pull into the master POS machine? Hence , we only need to upgrade the SQL CE to SQL server on the master POS?
