How response time is determined?

I just want to know where does response time come from? Is it upon clicking or from the beginning as you start typing?

Response time or the request is counted from the beginning of the request to the end of the response.
Response time of the transaction is counted from the beginning of the first request to the end of the last response.
A click typically triggers a request, however, some clicks do not trigger requests. It is determined by your application design.
When you are asking about typing, do you mean typing a transaction name in the recorder?
If yes, please note, the transaction starts when you finish typing your transaction name.
