***Resolved on 6/2/12***
Hi,
I have a problem moving a license to a different machine.
On the old machine, first I hit Test Connection button and the response is OK.

But when I hit Deactivate, Fiddler gets frozen, as in the attached picture:

At this point I only have to kill Fiddler using the Task Manager.
If I try to activate the license on the new machine, the following error occurs:
Anyone could help me?
Thanks in advance

Raffaele,
Since your question is related to your confidential licensing information, I have to work on this issue with you outside the public domain. I've already contacted you via a private message.

Yes, I received it and replied right away . Below I pasted my response, since it does not include any confidential information. Let me know if it helped to fix the issue.

Hi Raffaele,

The issue is that your customer’s machine is not properly deactivated. In order to fix the issue you must first reactivate the license on the customer’s machine, then deactivate from the customer’s machine.

  1. On the customer’s machine type your serial number and click Activate.

  2. Once the activation is complete, click Deactivate on the same machine.

After that, you should be able to transfer the license back to your development machine.
Cheers,
-Vadim

Hi Vadim,
I did as you suggested and finally succeeded!
The only issue I had on my customer's machine is the following: once StressStimulus has been activated/deactivated, Fiddler must be restarted. After that, internet navigation was broken (browsing got always HTTP 502 Bad Gateway).
To repair things, I had to restart Windows.

Thanks

Raf

Vadim,
I think I got the Fiddler issue's matter.
When Fiddler exits (and more likely in case of a crash), Internet Explorer proxy settings remain set as follows:
So it seems a Fiddler problem.
On my customer's machine there is a logon domain policy that resets any internet explorer options, that's why restarting windows always fix the problem.

Cheers,

Raf

Raf,

It makes sense. By design, Fiddler sets the proxy settings on its launch, and removes the proxy settings when it is gracefully closed. However, when Fiddler crashes, the proxy settings remain active, while the proxy (Fiddler) is not running. This breaks the Internet connection.
As you said, your customer's domain policy helped to fix the issue by rebooting the machine. But in most cases, the easiest way to remove the proxy settings is just starting and closing Fiddler.

Cheers,
-Vadim
