Can we run test cases in a sequence?

Can we run the test cases in a sequence ? If yes ,then here is my question –
If we need to record two test cases .
Test case 1 :
Add a Customer name in the Application .
Test case 2 :
Delete the Customer name added in the Test case 1.
Now, we need to make sure that, the user has to add a customer name before deleting it (in order to execute the test case 2 ,test case 1 need to be executed successfully)
