StresStimulus update (v. 0.8.4029) is released today. It adds a Warm-up time option.
A warm-up period is necessary to make sure that state of server resources, such as memory or cache, are prepared for normal operating mode. For example, after the server restarts, web application will operate slower until all necessary processes are loaded into memory, and database / application cache is primed.
During the warm-up period StresStimulus runs test scenario, but ignores captured HTTP sessions and does not include them into the load test report. This allows to avoid performance measurement errors related to a cold server. After completion of the warm-up period StresStimulus executes load test normally.
