We have an executable application which calls web services deployed on IIS for which we also need to do some performance testing.

Will StresStimulus be able to help me record these web service calls when I browse through various screens in exe.

StresStimulus can load test any HTTP action scenario that can the captured in Fiddler, regardless of the client. While StresStimulus recorder works in the browser client only, Fiddler can capture requests from any client that supports proxy.

If your application uses Wininet or is compatible with system proxy, then Fiddler should capture its traffic automatically.

Here are the steps to set the case for your exe application:
 - Before the recording, clear all sessions in Fiddler.
 - During the recording:

  •    make sure that the initial portion of the test case, including a login process or initial requests establishing a client session, are captured;

  •    navigate through your application;

  •    make sure that no unrelated traffic from opened  browsers or applications is captured.  Delete any unrelated sessions from the Fiddler grid before setting a test case. You can determine these unwanted sessions by checking the Process column in the fiddler grid.

  - After fiddler captured your test scenario, click Set All Sessions in StresStimulus to set the test case.

Once the test case is set, the load testing works the same as in browser applications.
